Former Busselton resident Sid Breeden would like help identifying the people captured in this film which was taken at the Miss Busselton Sunshine Quest circa 1958.AN old film which was taken at the Miss Busselton Sunshine Quest circa 1958 has surfaced and the owner is trying to locate the people captured in the movie.

Former Busselton resident Sid Breeden inherited the film from his late father Arthur Breeden who was a keen cinematographer.

Mr Breeden took eightstill imagesoff the eight millimetremovie film hoping someone might recognise the faces.

He hopedreaders of the Mail could helpidentify any of the women in the stills which weretaken from the movie.

”Being oldeightmillimetremovie film the images are not sharp but are recognisable,” he said.

“I hope someone will recognise themselves or their bathers,the winner in black bathers is wearing the sash.”

Theparticipants in the pageant wore a numbered armband from one to fourteen although he only counted thirteen women.

“Perhaps the number 13 was skipped,” he said.

In the film, Mr Breeden said thecatwalk was made fromthree rough sawedJarrah planks which were set on top of 44-gallon drums.

“The catwalk wentacross the beach down from the Beach Shop on the western side of the old promenade jetty,” he said.

“There was a huge crowd.”

Also pictured is the man on the right which Mr Breeden is trying to identify and believes hemay have belonged to the Rotary Club which organised the event.

“Ken Aitken who owned the electrical storewas there and a chocolate wheel was part of the festivities,” he said.

Mr Breeden will provide a DVD of the film to any of the Miss Busselton participants who can be identifiedin the stills.
