Australia’s Biggest Morning tea is a chance for friends and family to get together and raise funds together to go towards supporting cancer research.

All funds raised from the Biggest Morning Tea go towards research,health professional support andadvising patients on prevention, screening and diagnosis.

The annual event is aimingto add to more than$240,000already raised by the funeral home in the past 22years.

Last year the annual event was a record-breaker, named as the largest Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in the state.

This year it is hoped that success will continue and in so doing, raise vital funds for research and support services coordinated by the Cancer Council of WA.

The aim of this year’s event is to bring the grand total raised in the event’s history to more than $260,000.

William Barrett and Sons funeral director Adrian Barrett said it was a welcome change to have its Spencer Street premises filled with colour and laughter.

“As funeral directors we see the heartache caused by cancer week in, week out,” Mr Barrett said.

“This is a way we can work with our community to help the cause and we all have a lot of fun doing so.

“We encourage everyone to put the date in their calendar and come and be a part if it yet again.”

The Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea will be held from 9am to 1pm at 9 Spencer Street.There will be a children’s play corner, raffles, sausage sizzle lunch and visit from triumphant Iron Chef Australia contestant Herb Faust.

Herb Faustwill be acelebrity sausage sizzle chef and mingle with the crowd.

Dalyellup Primary School students Tracey-Lee Kingi and Izzy Woodfield will alsomake a return to the stage at next week’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

Coffee or tea served with a plate of morning tea for $5.
