The Cohuna Kangas recorded a third win of the season, defeating the winless Tyntynder by 38 points at Swan Hill.

The visitors kicked the only six goals of the opening quarter to set up the win, but had to withstand a fightback from the Bulldogs in the third term.

Kokwam Niki kicked three goals for the victors, with Rhys Bradley and Marcus Rogers leading the way across the ground.

The win moved the Kangas to seventh on the ladder, sharing the same number of wins as the fourth and fifth-placed sides.

Koondrook/Barham sits third on the ladder following its fifth consecutive win – a 21-point win against the Mallee Eagles.

The Raiders fought back from a 12-point quarter time deficit to lead by 15 points at the main break.

The Eagles reduced the margin to eight points at three-quarter time, before last year’s grand finalists rallied in the final term.

Tom May kicked four goals for the victors, who relied on the strength of Troy Rogers in the middle of the ground.

Meanwhile, Kerang returned to the top of the ladder with a 38-point win against Swan Hill.

Travis Matheson kicked four goals in his return to the side – a game that saw the Blues held goalless in the opening term.

The four-time grand finalists kicked 12 of the 17 goals booted after the first break to record a fifth win of the season.

Brandon Hayes and Riley Hird were best on ground for the victors.
